Joe grew up in the far north of New Zealand, where land-based kingfish weren’t an aspiration, they were a way of life. From an early age, he was drawn to remote ledges, learning patience and persistence, timing, and respect for the ocean through trial and error. That same instinct for challenge carries through everything he does today, whether fishing or hunting, always seeking wild places, hard-earned moments, and stories that can’t be manufactured.
