Some situations call for a big explosion, deep boom, and sharp cracking sound to trigger strikes from below; and the Tyrant delivers. It draws explosive top-water hits from GTs, kingfish, tuna, and mackerel, while smaller sizes are deadly chasing a wide range of reef and inshore species.

The Tyrant produces a loud cracking noise with a deep bassy boom and move large amounts of water on the surface with the large cup up front. These types of lures are very effective at drawing attention from large pelagics by simulating distressed prey struggling on the surface.

By far my favourite staple series lure, it is the easiest popper I’ve ever used and I got my first ever tuna hook up on a hardbody lure. Now I’m addicted and can’t resist throwing it every trip

Awesome quality lure came with BKK hooks. Some of the highest quality made lures Ive ever bought. Will update this review once I do some fishing in PNG and Vanuatu. Hoping to catch some big fish on the Staple Tyrant 180P. Highly recommend to purchase this one.

I don’t think I can describe how amazing the action on the staple tyrant is it’s just to perfect the amazing pop noise it makes whenever you drag it through the water attracting any fish within a mile!! After heading overseas with subpar lures last year and losing fish, i wasnt going to make that mistake again. I purchased the Malosi Staple Tyrant in the hopes of landing big yellowfin Tuna off the coast of Japan, this lure did not dissapppoint, straight out of the box it was unstoppable. Plenty of fish hooked and landed. Will be purchasing more of the range for future travels.

Caught nice Amberjack bonito and Bastard mackerel. From gran Canaria to Cyprus always a solid choice.
Wouldnt miss them in my tackle box anymore.

Bought these (and a bunch of Chieftains) for a topwater trip to Vanuatu with some mates in a couple of months - they not only look fantastic but they are very robust! When I ordered them I thought I might have to swap out the trebles but they look the business. Can’t wait to have a crack with them. Will definitely report back!

I’ve always just fished using bait but after seeing the reviews and videos on this product I couldn’t resist giving it a crack. Definitely did not disappoint! Have caught over a dozen fish with it now over a couple days. Gets the attention of a wide range of species which is awesome as I never know what I’m gonna reel in next. Watching the hit ups on the top water is very addicting and I’ll definitely be back for more gear. Absolute must have and would definitely recommend

the staple tyrant gets absolutely flogged on our lizard island fishing charters where every fish is oversized, the most versatile popper I’ve used, small pops/walk the dog over the reef flats or loud cracking pops on the reef edge for XL pelagics. Paired with sharp hooks, very deadly.
